She has written several plays including Portrait of Ten Women, which chronicles the lives of Latina women living with HIV/AIDS. Her ten-minute play L’Ultimo Viaggio was commissioned by Watts Village Theatre Company for their Meet Me @ Metro traveling theatre event. Most recently her play The Rosalila received a workshop production directed by Luis Alfaro. Tony Bartolone is staff writer at pLAywriting in the city. He is a community college drop out. He honed his craft at Cerritos College where he did nearly twenty plays, won several theatre and writing awards and made some best friends with whom he started two theatre companies. He has explored the human condition on stage as an actor, writer, director, comedian, improviser, producer, sound designer and sound technician. Tony Bartolone has done stand up at clubs all over L.A., including the Ice House and all rooms at The Comedy Store. Four plays he has written have been produced (Have you ever Peed In The Dark?, One Of These Things…, Pro, and I Am Chris.)  His writing subject matter spans from pro wrestling to punk rock, from family dramedy to peeing in the the dark. Tony does not play an instrument nor does he have any musical talent (beyond an above average knowledge and appreciation of garage bands.) You can not see him in the season finale of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia because his scene was cut. And his TV pilot has been thrown in the trash by some of todays most influential television producers. “At the end of the day, nobody is any better than a punk rock love song.” Tony also writes for The Huffington Post and the LA Theatre Review.

Angela Imperial is pLAywriting in the city’s newest staff writer. She began her love affair with the stage almost 20 years ago. She has worked with theater companies throughout L.A. & Orange County. Most recently: East LA Rep, Casa 0101, Watts Village Theater Company & Breath of Fire Latina Ensemble. Angela’s credits include: Frita Khalo in El Verde, Alma in Josefina Lopez’s When Nature Calls, Yolanda in Cherrie Moraga’s Heroes & Saints, Cecilia in Soldado Razo, Pvt. Lydia Jimenez and Angelica Rivera in Mel Nieves’ W.A.C. Iraq. Angela has written, directed and most recently produced “THE BOUT” for the 48 Hour Film Project-LA. She can also be seen in the webisode series No Kids. No Cry. and Police Chicks. Angela is very excited to begin a new chapter in her career with pLAywriting in the city!
