Hit man. Check. Hot Nurse. Check. Talking dog. Check. The world premiere of The Misadventures of Rick the Strangler written and directed by Brian Peterson is a fun and exciting new comedy now playing at Electric Lodge. It is a hilariously written story of Rick the Hit Man, his dog Amos, and the chaos that ensues when Ricks girlfriend gives the dog away while he is out of town.

Mancave Productions combines a talented cast with great writing. The end result? A sore stomach from laughing so hard. A very sexy Jonathan Brooks (Rick) and an adorable James Zimmerman (Amos) have wonderful chemistry together as man and dog. They convey that special bond one can have with “man’s best friend” and the harsh realization that no matter how loyal a dog may be, all they really want to do is eat.  Irina Costa (Tina) has legs for days and comedic timing to match.   The ensemble is rounded out by Trip Davis (Lenny), Michael Geary (Duane) and Rhomeyn Johnson (Mr. Paul) – all three add to the show with their hysterical antics. This play is full of surprises from the set, which literally unfolds before your eyes, to the unexpected musical numbers, to Amos’s finger fetish. It is meant to make the audience laugh and it does just that.

Men will appreciate this play for its quick pace and almost Tarantino-like writing. The ladies will fall in love with Amos; who knew a man in dog suit could be so endearing? It takes the audience on a trip through the zany life of a professional killer and his “nurse” girlfriend, who doesn’t realize just how imperative Amos is to Rick’s entire life.  It truly is the “misadventures” of a man trying to survive in his own world filled with death, lies, and greed.

This show is an absolute riot!  It is laugh out loud funny and will leave you wanting to see more!!
